Announcement of Scholarships
1. General Outline:
The "Analysis and Management of Energy Systems" Master's Program at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME) of the University of Thessaly announces for the academic year 2021-22 the granting of scholarships (up to four - depending on the successful results of the participants), financed by the Anonymous General Company of Cements Heraklis (A.G.E.T. Heraklis).
The amount of each scholarship is 1,800 euros and will be given directly to the scholarship holder by the Company after the successful completion of the first postgraduate year.
The scholarship is addressed to university graduates who have been accepted and are studying at the MSc-ADES of the DME of the University of Thessaly.
2. Standard participation conditions:
Candidates must meet all of the following criteria:
- To be graduates of a Polytechnic School of a greek university or a corresponding (recognized in Greece and equivalent) Department (Engineering) abroad, or university graduates of a Science Department.
- Have a diploma grade >= 7.5
- Not to exceed 30 years of age
- To have completed the first semester of studies at the MSc-ADES, to be consistent in their obligations towards the program, and to have been successfully examined in all courses with an average grade >=7.0.
- Not have been exempted from tuition fees due to income or other criteria.
3. Scholarship Selection Process:
The selection of the scholarship holder will be made, upon his/her request, by the Coordination Committee of the MSc-ADES, based on the following criteria:
- Undergraduate Diploma Grade (70 points x Diploma Grade/8.5)
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals (10 points per publication)
- Presentations at scientific conferences (5 points per publication)
- Result of interview with the CC of the MSc-ADES (30 points)
All those who meet the aforementioned conditions for participation (Para. 2) will be invited to an interview by the committee.
In the event of a tie, the candidate with the highest Undergraduate Diploma grade will advance.
In the event of a further tie, the candidate with the highest interview score with the members of the CC of ADES will advance. Two (2) runners-up will also be designated.
4. Required Candidate Documents and Submission of Applications:
- Application of the interested party
- CV
- Copy of Undergraduate Diploma with Analytical Grades
- ADES 1st semester course grading
The applications of the interested parties should be submitted by 10/3 of each academic year to the secretariat of the MSc-ADES of the DME of the Polytechnic School of UTh. The names of the scholarship holders will be published on the website of the MSc-ADES, on which website AGET will appear as the sponsor of the program.
It is the scholarship holder's obligation
- the completion of the ADES Program and the acquisition of the relevant Master's degree and
- sending to the Company a letter in which it will be mentioned how this scholarship has helped his/her professional development.
